Accountant – Real Estate Investor – Luxembourg
Our client is a dynamic and growing real estate investment company based in Luxembourg. The firm manages a diversified portfolio of assets across Europe. As part of the company’s continued expansion, they are seeking a motivated accountant to join the finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting of Luxembourg entities and real estate investment structures.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate accounting records for Luxembourg holding and property companies in accordance with Lux GAAP.
Record journal entries, invoices, accruals, and other transactions in the general ledger.
Prepare and review reconciliations of bank accounts, intercompany balances, and loans.
Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely settlements.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Support the preparation of management reports and performance analyses.
Contribute to consolidation processes and internal financial reviews.
Provide accounting data and analysis to support budgeting and forecasting.
Support the preparation of audit files and liaise with external auditors.
Assist in the preparation and filing of VAT and tax returns in coordination with tax advisors.
Ensure compliance with Luxembourg legal, accounting, and regulatory requirements.
Assist with the preparation of payment instructions and cash flow tracking.
Reconcile loan interest, capital movements, and financing costs.
Profile & Qualifications
Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent qualification.
1 – 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or audit, preferably within real estate, private equity, or investment structures.
Previous experience in a fiduciary, Big 4, or fund administration environment is desirable.
Solid understanding of Lux GAAP; knowledge of IFRS is an asset.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., BOB50, Yardi, or similar).
Familiarity with real estate accounting principles and investment structures.
