About the Role
Our client, a leading international real estate investment and asset management platform, is seeking a Junior Real Estate Commercial Loan Asset Manager to join its Luxembourg office. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional to gain hands-on exposure to pan-European commercial real estate debt portfolios within a dynamic and institutional environment.
Working closely with senior asset managers and the investment team, you will support the active management of a diversified portfolio of commercial real estate loans across multiple jurisdictions and asset classes (office, retail, logistics, residential, hospitality, mixed-use).
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio & Asset Monitoring
Assist in the day-to-day monitoring of a portfolio of commercial real estate loans (senior, mezzanine, whole loans).
Track borrower performance, covenant compliance, and key credit metrics.
Review financial statements, rent rolls, business plans, and valuation reports.
Maintain internal asset management systems and reporting tools.
Financial & Credit Analysis
Build and maintain cash flow models and loan monitoring models.
Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis.
Support loan risk rating assessments and provisioning analysis.
Assist with refinancing analysis and exit strategy evaluations.
Stakeholder & Servicer Oversight
Liaise with borrowers, external servicers, valuers, legal advisers, and property managers.
Support the coordination of waiver, amendment, and restructuring processes.
Prepare internal memos and credit papers for investment committees.
Reporting
Contribute to quarterly portfolio reporting for internal stakeholders and investors.
Prepare asset-level summaries and performance dashboards.
Assist with regulatory and compliance-related reporting where required.
Transaction Support
Support senior asset managers with due diligence on new loan acquisitions.
Assist with closing processes, documentation review, and onboarding of new assets.
Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
1–3 years’ experience in real estate finance, loan servicing, banking, private debt, AIFM, or Big 4 advisory (real estate or valuation exposure preferred).
Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
Solid understanding of commercial real estate fundamentals and capital structures.
Knowledge of Luxembourg fund structures and AIFM environment is an advantage.
Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with financial modelling tools is beneficial.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams.
Fluent in English; additional European languages (French or German) are an asset.
