Finance Manager – Real Estate Investor – Luxembourg

 

We are currently mandated by a well renowned global real estate investor to help recruit a Finance Manager to the team in Luxembourg. The purpose of the role is as follows:

Responsible for the financial reporting and operational finance procedures of Luxembourg (regulated AIFM), as well as several European corporate entities including France, Netherlands, Sweden and Poland through management of external outsourced accounting providers;
To provide accurate and timely IFRS and local GAAP reporting for those entities including management reporting, regulatory reporting, statutory filings and other ad-hoc information;
To assist the Group Financial Controller: Europe on any adhoc projects and take responsibility for specific projects as and when necessary;
To improve the quality of reporting from the local subsidiaries and enhance the overall quality of the local accounting processes;
To assist in all other aspects of the Group Finance function where applicable.

 

Management Reporting

Review and challenge monthly management accounts as prepared by the service providers for all entities, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheet, variance analysis and commentaries;
Perform conversion of local GAAP trial balances to IFRS;
Uploading of the monthly reporting package onto the consolidation platform and assist with enquiries from Group Finance;
Prepare and present IFRS monthly management reporting packs to the Corporate Finance Manager and other key stakeholders;
Prepare quarterly financial reports for use of the respective Boards;
Liaise with other Group Finance teams to ensure all inter-company transactions are recorded correctly at all times;
Prepare entity cash flow forecasts on a monthly basis.

 

Budgeting and Forecasting

Prepare detailed variance analysis and reporting for current forecasts vs. prior forecasts.

 

Financial and Regulatory Reporting and Compliance

Ensure all statutory requirements are filed in a timely and accurate manner;
Assist with providing information to all local annual and interim financial audits.
Ensure all regulatory requirement are met for the respective entities, specifically with regard to Luxembourg CSSF and AIFM regulatory reporting;

 

Tax Compliance

Responsible for ensuring all entity tax filings are complete in an accurate and timely manner;
Liaise regularly with the Head of Tax on all local tax matters.

 

Person Specification

Bachelor or Master Degree in Finance/Accounting;
Proven experience in an accounting or financial audit environment;
Language skills – fluent in English both written and spoken;
Demonstratable accounting skills (IFRS or Lux GAAP);
Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to work independently on specific projects, pick things up quickly and use initiative;
Time management skills – ability to work to deadlines under pressure;
