Senior Tax Accountant – Real Estate Investor – Luxembourg

Our client is a prominent European real estate investor known for its dynamic portfolio of logistics assets across Europe. The company is committed to excellence in investment management, fostering growth, and delivering value to its stakeholders. To support its expanding operations, the company is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join its finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
Overall tax compliance (Luxembourg and other regions)
Preparation, review and filing of Luxembourg CIT and VAT returns;
Review of German and UK VAT Returns;
Review of Transfer Pricing study reports;
Coordination of overall tax compliance across Europe;
Communication with local service providers;
Financial Accounting & Reporting:
Maintain and oversee the general ledger for the real estate portfolio.
Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Luxembourg GAAP and IFRS.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
Monitor cash flow and provide recommendations to optimize liquidity.
Real Estate Operations:
Manage accounting for property acquisitions, sales, and asset management transactions.
Reconcile rental income, tenant charges, and property management fees.
Collaborate with the asset management team to ensure accurate reporting of property performance.
Process Optimization:
Implement and improve accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Stay updated on industry and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and best practices.
Team Collaboration:
Mentor junior accountants and share expertise to enhance team capabilities.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including legal, tax, and asset management departments.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
Experience:
A minimum of 4 years accounting experience – some knowledge of real estate would be beneficial but not essential
Strong knowledge of Luxembourg GAAP and IFRS.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent communication skills in English is essential
